MEASURING FOR SWAGS / CASCADES
Swags are the center section of the treatment that swoops down in graceful curves. There can be a number of swags in a treatment depending on the width. Cascades are sidepieces gracefully falling down. They can go either on top of the swags or underneath the swags.
These top treatments are usually mounted on the board.

MEASURING THE SWAGS / CASCADES - WHEN THERE ARE NO UNDER TREATMENTS
FACE WIDTH
- Measure the width from the outside of the window frame on the left to the outside of the window frame on the right. Say it is 60"add at least 2" on each side for some leeway. Hence face width is 60" + 2" + 2" = 64". You can add more than 2" each side if you do not want Cascades to cover the window too much.
CORNER RETURNS
- is the projection from the wall into the room. Measure how far you would like it from the wall making sure nothing is in the way.
Generally, corner return is 3 ½" without any under treatment.
FINISHED WIDTH
- Face Width 64" + Returns (if 3 ½" each side) 3 ½" + 3 ½" = 71"
FINISHED LENGTH (FOR SWAGS)
Maximum standard long point is 20" in Drapery Fabric and 24" in Sheer fabric. Minimum Length that can be ordered is 14" Short point is between 3" to 5" smaller than long point. It is also referred to as the " Crossover" point because it is where the swags overlap each other. Whatever length is decided, make sure that the Short point covers the window frame. When the treatment is installed.
CASCADE LENGTH
Standard size is 36" and the range available for cascades is 20" to 99". Choosing the length of the cascades depends on ones likes and desires for a special look.

FACE WIDTH
- Take the measurement of the under treatment rod bracket to bracket.
For Example 60"
To this add 2" on each side so there is no interference from underneath treatment.
Hence total face width is 60" + 2" + 2" = 64"
CORNER RETURNS
- is the projection from the wall into the room. First measure the corner return of the under treatment from the wall.
For Example say 4"on each side.
To this add 3" on each side for proper performance of the under treatment.
Hence return on each side is 4" + 3 " = 7"
FINISHED WIDTH
- Face Width + corner returns
64" + 7" + 7" = 78"
